Mother, wife, musician, artist, business owner and Cancer survivor.

I am blessed in many ways. I have a wonderful husband, who I work with every day running our music lesson business as well as recording and touring with his music. I have an amazing son, Adrian who is 10 years old and a beautiful daughter Luciana who is 6. We reside in Lincroft, New Jersey where we own and operate our own business. Monmouth County is the perfect place to raise our family, and we've been lucky to meet some amazing people here through our business. I am a cancer survivor as well. And all of this fits into my 29 years on the planet.

On March 12, 2008, at 23 years old I was diagnosed with a very rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. It is so rare, that there are only about 40 known cases of this form of Leukemia ever recorded and there is no scientific name for the version I was dealt with.  In medical terms it is called: AML FAB M-2 t(16;21) (p16;q21) and involves a very rare chromosome translocationa and gene malformation. Fighting this Cancer required intensive chemotherapy during many months of inpatient stays. I was treated at a wonderful hospital in northern NJ. My doctor was aggressive in fighting my AML, and since I was under the age of 25 I was able to take part in a pediatric clinical trial.

My AML was so rare, and had such a low percentage of survival rates, my doctors decided that ultimately a bone marrow transplant was my best chance. I was lucky and had seven good matches in the national bone marrow registry for my doctors to choose from. After picking a donor, I had my bone marrow transplant on July 22 2008,  We are praying that this will be my cure. I just celebrated my 5 year Bone Marrow Transplant anniversary, which is a HUGE milestone!

I have been keeping this blog all through my hospitalizations and treatments, as well as during my ongoing recovery period. I want to give hope to all young adults out there who are going through un certain and trying times dealing with Cancer and wondering how life goes on after cancer. There is hope, and there is normal life at the end of the tunnel. If you ask me, I think life is better after beating Cancer, and I am a stronger person than I ever imagined I could be.

I have spent two years writing a memoir, and am very proud to of "Life, Love... Leukemia" which was released on July 22, 2013! It is available where ever books are sold, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kindle, iBook and all e-readers. The feedback I have received on my memoir has been amazing. I love every message, email, call and letter I get from all of you who have read it, and found inspiration through my story - and I thank you all that you share with me as well!

I would like to thank everyone who has helped our family through our difficult time. My husband Lucien and I are truly amazed at the unbelievable generosity and support of our family and friends.  Everything you have helped us with makes such a difference from the meals, to the diapers, household supplies, donated babysitting for our children. Because of all of your help, we are stronger and are able to concentrate our energy on the life long battle we have endured fighting this Cancer. We will forever be grateful for everything you have all helped us with.
